Thankful for the Journey: Reflecting on Personal Growth
Oct 07, 2024It has been several days since I last published a blog post. Many of you know, I celebrated a birthday on 10/2. I took several days off spend time with family and to reflect on life. During this timeframe, I did not spend a long time on social media. I wanted to post today to give an update on what has happened over the last several days. I may ramble throughout this post but I am just getting my thoughts out.
First of all, I want to thank everyone who took the time to tell me Happy Birthday by sending texts, DMs, emails, Facebook posts, and phone calls. I am appreciative to those who told me face to face or called me. I appreciate the hugs and every other way I was acknowledged.
Now, to give you an update. As you can see, I had to get some new glasses. I am really struggling to get used to them because these have a new prescription. Apparently, working in front of computer screens for over (2) decades has taken its toll on these old eyes. My eyes are tired as I’m typing this.
I also feel like an old man because I finally gave in and signed up for AARP. Is this is the beginning of the mid-life crisis? If it is, I have had a great time outside of adjusting to these glasses.
I have enjoyed my favorite doughnuts (Krispy Kreme), my favorite Kombucha blends, one of my favorite lunches (Bourbon Chicken) and one of my favorite dinner meals (Oxtails). I got to spend time with my wife and daughters. I got to reflect on what is important to me and readjust to what I need to do going forward. This is the reason for taking a break with the daily blog posts that I hope they have been beneficial in some way or another.
I want to end by saying, “Thank You” for the Birthday Love and “Thank You” for supporting my efforts on this blog, my podcast, my website, and all of my social media platforms. I thank God for my first 44yrs of life. I also hope that I have been the personification of what Ubuntu looks like!
